Writing for Wellbeing
Expressive, therapeutic, creative day workshops and
individual consultations exploring ways to use writing to promote a sense of
wellbeing.
Putting pen to paper can be good exercise for body, mind and spirit. It requires
few resources and can be done anywhere and any time.
Therapeutic writing as a self-help method can be effective in reducing stress
and developing self-awareness, helping you discover your potential for inner
growth and stability and bringing a fresh perspective on any situation.
Writing with intention and awareness in body, speech and mind can help us to be
present with energy and purpose. Making writing a daily practice while detaching
from expectations, implications, analysis, outcome and judgement helps free up
observation and imagination.
Techniques such as working with guided imagery can help unblock fear, bringing
understanding and clarity and helping you to find a way forward. Responsive
writing allows us to experience how receiving and responding can help with
feelings of isolation and separateness, opening the way to co-enquiry and
compassionate intelligence.
One-day workshops begin on 10 October 2009 at The Salisbury Centre in Edinburgh.
